This past Saturday, we crowned the Founders Cup Champion after an exciting round of
playdown games.
Team Sinnett represented the Tuesday morning league and after winning all its
regular league games, proved unstoppable when it came to the playdowns. Team Wilson (Mark
Wilson, Hank Alexandre, Malia Howland, Ken Voorhees) representing the Sunday evening
league tried, but one bad end sealed its fate. Team Sinnett was skipped by Dave Sinnett, Vice
Brian Pijanowski, Second Nadim Jamal and Lead Martin Webb. The Founders Cup celebrates
the fall curling season. The crystal trophy was presented to the winners by our Club President,
Matina Heisler. It was originally purchased with club funds around 2004 by then President Tony
Colacchio. Team Sinnett poignantly dedicated its win to Anne Dewees, one of our founders who
passed away just last week.
Let’s see which Open league teams can create some magic in the winter session and sit atop of
their league and make it to the Thornton Cup playdowns in April.
